Dear Administration, Teachers, and Staff of KCA,
I can’t thank you enough for the past 3 years that you have had my son as a student at KCA! He has grown tremendously and made progress in so many different areas. I think back to right before he came to KCA. It was the start of the pandemic, which was already a frightening situation. We had to find him a new school without being able to see the program in action, since the students were all remote at the time. We had very encouraging meetings with Mrs. Hochstein and Mr. Anderson, but I was very, very scared that we could be making another mistake with my son. I felt like I had already made many mistakes in trying to figure out what was best for him, and I so very badly did not want to make another mistake. As we accepted his admission to KCA, I prayed that we were making the right decision. Shortly thereafter, I was driving over the Ardsley Bridge. It had recently stopped raining and I saw a rainbow in the sky. I stopped the car in the middle of the road and took a picture of it. I felt this was a sign from God that we were making the right decision sending our son to KCA.
It turned out to be one of the best decisions we’ve made for him. The #1 reason for that, is all of you. He very quickly bonded to so many people who worked at KCA. He would come home and tell me some of the advice they had given him, conversations he had, and
some of the kind things that staff members had done to help him that went above and beyond what I would have expected. In getting to know a lot of the staff myself, I was so impressed by how much you all deeply care for the kids and try so hard to make a difference in their lives. I really consider you all heroes.
I also want to say thank you for the wonderful graduation! It was very special and a day I’ll never forget! Also thank you for the Chromebook for my son. We were shocked to see that that was what was in the box!
You have a great school – more like a community, and I just wanted to share my appreciation with you. Here is the actual picture I took of the rainbow on that day 3 years ago.
