Home Depot Visit

On Thursday, 4/11, Home Depot came to Dr. Kenneth B. Clark Academy with a truckload full volunteers and donations for the garden and environmental science program. Students and staff along with the Home Depot volunteers spent the day outside doing hands on activities to beautify the perimeters and prepare the courtyard garden for the spring. The environmental science program continues to build on the Certified Natural Wildlife Habitat and the vegetable and fruit garden. A new Cherry Tree was planted as a focal point in the courtyard and various vegetables and fruit including, strawberries, kale, cabbage and tomatoes were planted. When harvesting occurs, the vegetables will be used in dishes the students create. Each year we build upon the existing program and now with this new partnership, we look forward to not only improving our current program but also adding new experiential and CTE learning opportunities for our students.
