KCA Families,
As you know, our region has seen a spike in COVID cases over the last month. Working to keep our schools as safe as possible, our school district is working on getting enough COVID tests to test all students and staff on Monday, January 3, 2022 or Tuesday, January 4th, 2022. We are waiting to ensure that testing materials will arrive in a timely fashion and would like to be prepared in advance. We need permission from you to test your child for COVID.
Giving us permission to test your child will be helpful beyond just Monday January 3, 2022. It will also allow us to cut down on quarantining. Let’s say your child has direct/close contact with someone testing positive at school– Instead of automatically quarantining them for 10 days, we can test them to stay as long as they are symptom free. We would test them over the course of 5 days and, as long as they continue to test negative, they can continue to attend school.
Please contact the school and let us know if you will give us permission to test your child.
You can send an email to akelly@gncufsd.org stating your name, your child’s name and whether you give permission for testing.

A few reminders:
Please do not send your child to school if they are sick or have COVID symptoms.
Please make sure your child has a mask and remind him/her to wear it on the bus.
Please make sure you inform us if your child is vaccinated and send us a copy of the vaccination card.
Please inform us if your child or anyone in your household tests positive for COVID. This just helps us to follow through appropriately and keep everyone safe.
Thank you for your time and attention. Happy Holidays.
